The team here at Hyde Lodge had an exciting first experience this week, after receiving an invitation from Brooksby Melton College, to give their degree level students a lecture and ridden demonstration. Alex delivered a presentation based around the rigours of working within the equine world and what goes with riding and running a business. This was followed by a ridden session, in which our exciting 5 year old “Shadow Bear,” was put through his paces over various fences. Alex then proceeded to show the students various exercises to improve a young horses jump and build confidence. To finish, our very own head girl and dressage rider, India Ward, rode “The Dustman,” through the dressage movements required at the highest level, as well as explains and demonstrating how we school and train the horses at home.
We hope all of those who were with us for the day enjoyed themselves as much as we did, as well as increase their depth off knowledge in the equine world in which they hope to endeavour. Many thanks once again to Brooksby Melton College.
